Hot on the Highstreet Week 259

It is not easy to find a bikini that makes you feel good about yourself. When I first step onto the beach with pasty British skin I like to have an outfit that will boost my confidence.

The Cos bikinis take the common female insecurities into consideration. Comfortable, flattering and available to buy as separates, so you can purchase a set that fits and flatters your figure. I was positively surprised by the swimwear, and particularly loved the simple pastel and striped designs.

The bikini tops are soft shaped, in a triangle style made from lightly textured pique fabric. With lined cups, they have thin adjustable straps and a matte clasp fastening at the back. The bikini bottoms have a smooth lining and are cut to sit low on the waist and high on the leg. I found them much more comfortable than most. Bikinis are sized XS-L and are priced between £15-19 for single top/bottom, so around £34 for a set.

Hot on the Highstreet Week 190

The Christmas bonus is in the bank, the New Year festivities are over and it’s time to start that health kick and book a summer holiday… What better way to motivate you than the gorgeous, sexy, and terrifyingly skimpy heidi klein bikinis.

Last week my workmates complained as a smartly wrapped box was delivered to me at my desk. This immaculately presented present was from heidi klein, the stylish British designers who ensure you are holiday-ready all year round. The brand was launched in 2002 when Heidi Gosman and Penny Klein noticed how the British highstreet lacks holiday gear outside of the usual summer months. Their luxurious swim and beachwear offers women a fashionable, comfortable and flattering range all year round, so you can get the perfect holiday wardrobe whenever you choose to go away. And as the brand continues to flourish, the heidi klein collections continue to expand and soon menswear and children’s range will also be available.

Though every piece is beautiful, from flip flops to kaftans, it is the bikini sets which are perhaps the most desirable. Blissfully soft, stretchy and unusually comfortable, they are made from the finest fabrics to ensure the quality, shape and colour remains in top condition. Carefully and thoughtfully designed to flatter every curve and contour of the female body, I was amazed by the effects when I tried my lovely svelte black bikini on. With a girly bow at the front of the top and a folded over seam on the bottoms, I loved the detailing of the bikini. And though this design is no longer available the new 2014 collection is equally attractive, with some lovely bold bright designs to fall in love with.

So when January is good and done, reward yourself for all that exercise and lack of alcohol with a holiday abroad and a beautiful bikini  from heidi klein that will last you a lifetime.

heidi klein can be purchased online at www.heidiklein.com and in store at 257 Pavilion Road, Sloan Square, SW1X 0BP and 174 Westbourne Grove, W11 2RW in London and at various boutiques and department stores globally.

Hot on the Highstreet Week 108

The glowing H&M ads adorning London bus stops make one yearn for some warm weather, here in England summer seems to barely exist anymore. Glistening golden bodies suited in gorgeous bright skimpy bikinis lying languidly on loungers appear to be from another planet. H&M bikinis look divine on the models and after trying and buying them I can promise they suit the normal body as well.

I have just been on two beach blogging trips, Marrakech and then Beirut. Both required a serious assortment of poolside garments. It is always nice to have a selection of bikinis for summer holidays away… preferably a different swimsuit for each day, as you don’t want to be seen in the same thing twice! But swimsuits can be expensive, especially when you have to buy top and bottom separately!

H&M have been my life-saver this year, with a selection of bikinis in numerous designs and colours, there are options for every beach bod. This stylish collection features exotic patterns and flattering one-colour looks. Choose from an updated bandeau style, classic balconettes or triangle tops. I bought three, a bright blue, an electric pink and a classic peachy orange set. On holiday they were comfortable and looked good before and after tanning thanks to the cheerful hues. H&M sell their bikinis individually, which is perfect for girls who need different sizes for top and bottoms. Most are priced at £7.99 for the top and £9.99 for the bottoms… so a grand total of £17.98 per set. The only fault is that each bikini varies enormously in size, so I would advise trying them each on in-store before committing to buy… in some of the sets I found I was a size 8 others felt better in size 14!

I am lazy when it comes to highstreet shopping, dreading the chaos and clutter of the cheaper fashion stores. I am so glad my friend dragged me into H&M this summer though. I have now got this season’s swimwear wardrobe completely sorted thanks to this shop’s chic and sophisticated bikini range.
