At 8.30 am on Wednesday 10th July Bread Street Kitchen was rather more busy and buzzing than usual. This was, of course, because the restaurant’s star chef owner Gordon Ramsay was attending to introduce and celebrate the launch of his new Bread Street by Royal Doulton tableware collection.

I enjoyed the ricotta hot cakes with strawberries and honeycomb ice-cream with a strong flat white and fresh orange juice. All served from the simple, subtle, but quite lovely range. Made in versatile slate grey and off white, this collection reminded me of lunches by the seaside in Cornwall. Gordon was great too, genuinely enthused about the product, recommending us all to send back our single gifted cup in exchange for the whole collection!

Available soon in shops this affordable and pretty range of classic tableware is the perfect present. I’d love to have the whole collection as staples in my home.
