Hot on the Highstreet Week 166

Louis Vuitton manage to have it both ways: they are comfortingly classic but also manage to spike their collections with quirky ultra modern collaborations. Their graffiti-inspired collaboration with the late Stephen Sprouse was a hit and now they are hoping to repeat their success with this Eine partnership.

I’ve spotted this Ben Eine for Louis Vuitton silk scarf everywhere, a fun and stylish design which would add character to any outfit. Eine is best known for his alphabet lettering that adorns East London shop shutters and covers walls in the trendy areas of Brick Lane and Shoreditch. He began his career as an underground artist, later fame came when David Cameron gave a piece of Eine’s work to Barack Obama as a gift in 2010.

Eine’s artwork multicoloured letter-text graffiti artwork is emblazoned across a black background, the neon letters read: ‘Louis Vuitton Great Adventures’. Made from the finest hand-rolled silk and measuring an impressive 136cm x 136cm, Eine says the scarf illustrates “how I feel, every time you get off a plane in a new city, it is the beginning of an adventure, all about new encounters.”

The scarf was initially only available exclusively at Selfridges where Eine graffitied a special allocated space to celebrate the scarf’s exclusivity at the shop, but from July 1st Ben Eine’s striking silk scarf became available at Louis Vuitton shops. Desirable and dashing, it is priced at £465.
