Bristol is a city I had wanted to visit and write about for a while. The evolving creative scene seems to frequently catch my attention, with new restaurants and galleries opening up almost every week. Every great city break needs a complementing hotel, and Hotel du Vin is the ideal accommodation for a weekend away in Bristol.

I know the Hotel du Vin brand well, I have been lucky to stay in the Manchester, Newcastle and Brighton branches and they more hotels dotted around the country. Each hotel is housed in a historic building, in Bristol it is the magnificently restored Sugar House, a Grade II listed building.

Quality and comfort is always of a high standard at Hotel du Vin. Rooms at Hotel du Vin Bristol range in price from £119 – 209 depending on the day of the week. At this hotel there are 40 bedrooms to choose from, but even the entry level Standard room comes complete with a King-sized bed.

Our bedroom in Bristol was very spacious with a writing desk, TV and luxurious bathroom (complete with freestanding bathtub). The toiletries were very special miniatures from REN, one of my favourite beauty brands.

Breakfast in bed was a highlight of my stay at Hotel du Vin Bristol. The lovely staff promptly delivered a tempting selection of continental breakfast treats from fruit salad to mini pastries, coffee and fresh fruit juice. If you are less lazy than me you can venture downstairs to the dining room where they also serve hot breakfast. This Bistro eatery is popular throughout the day with guests and other visitors… the menu offers elegant but informal cuisine with a focus on seasonal ingredients.
Perfectly located in the centre of town, with spacious comfortable rooms and efficient service, Hotel du Vin Bristol have perfected the city break hotel offering.
