Chang Sensory Trails

Thai food and Chang beer are a popular pairing… the light pale lager is the perfect refreshment after a mouthful of spicy aromatic curry. So I wasn’t surprised when I heard Chang were partnering with renowned Bangkok eatery Bo.Lan to offer an authentic Thai food sensory trail inspired by chef memories, starting its 2017 world tour in London.

Chef couple ‘Bo’ Songvisava and Dylan Jones (from Bo.Lan) will launch the taste adventure on 29th April at Old Spitalfields Market. Now in its second year this sensory trail is a free to enter, un-ticketed event which aims to deliver ‘the unexpected’ by introducing the world to a modern, refreshing take on Thai food, art and music.

London’s favourite Thai restaurants (including Patara, Busaba Eathai, Regional Thai Taste, Farang, 101 Thai kitchen, Janetira and Tawana) will be pairing up with the Bo.Lan team to offer a fun-filled event, which promises to be a feast for all the senses. Alongside the fantastic food the event will feature great tunes to set the vibe (including Live Lounge), an aromatic art installation built on the foundations of Thai cooking and a “Herb Hill” for visitors to explore.

There is also a chance to win a seat at the exclusive chef’s table (more information on the Chang Beer Facebook page here) where guests will experience an intimate VIP experience with Chefs Bo and Dylan. The husband and wife team will be personally presenting their interpretations of iconic Thai dishes in a single “course-prohibited” serving, promoting the Thai tradition of sharing food amongst the table.
