On 2nd April Vintage Classics will release a 150th anniversary gift edition of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, with a cover and introduction by designer Dame Vivienne Westwood. The special edition of Lewis Carroll’s classic also includes end papers by the fashion designer, as well as Through The Looking Glass and the original Tenniel illustrations. It is a fitting collaboration as Westwood’s Red Label Autumn-Winter 2011/12 catwalk show was inspired by Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland.

Vintage Books said: “From her catwalk shows inspired by Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures to her world-famous British inspired collections, Dame Vivienne Westwood has always seen the world through the looking glass. To celebrate the 150th anniversary of her favourite children’s story she has created a unique front cover and end paper for this very special edition. Vivienne has also contributed an introduction to explain her passion for Lewis Carroll’s classic and how it links to her personal manifesto for change.”

The special edition of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland will be released on 2nd April as a £15 hardback. It is available to pre-order now from Amazon here.

Created by a renowned floral Japanese artist Makoto Azuma, Belle Epoque Florale Edition is a reverential homage to Emile Galle’s famous Art Nouveau design. This was originally inspired by Japanese art culture, and has become the iconic image of Perrier-Jouët artistic heritage through its prestige cuvee. Challenging the aesthetic boundaries, Makoto Azuma created a unique combined artwork, made of a single delicate botanical arabesque dotted with white Japanese anemones. The anemones recall the original 1902 design, which is further reinforced with a handcrafted motif of golden flowers on the bottle of Belle Epoque 2004, carefully selected by Cellar Master Hervé Deschamps.

The artist explains: “‘I wanted to make something extraordinary, taking inspiration from the sensation of champagne inside the mouth, and the delicate movement of the ivy and leaves with a special attention and tribute given to Emile Gallé’s anemones”.

The unique Limited Edition was revealed as part of an exclusive international event attended by over 150 media and VIP guests, at the most beautiful and traditional Japanese Happoen-garden in the heart of Tokyo city. Guests enjoyed an elegant and imaginative exhibition, telling the story of both Emile Gallé and Azuma Makoto in a creative and contemporary way.

Wallpaper Magazine has revealed the Perrier-Jouët Belle Epoque Florale Edition project within its third Handmade Edition. The partnership with the eminent design magazine includes the creation of a six page Bespoke concertina within the August print edition, while the Wallpaper iPad App will bring the project to life with interactive video content.

A special bottle of bubbly just in time for Christmas.

Perrier-Jouët Belle Epoque Florale Edition will be available from Harvey Nichols for £195.

I am a self-confessed Chanel nail varnish addict. When I worked in Knightsbridge, it was the only thing I could afford during daily lunchtime excursions to Harvey Nichols, and so began my collection. I especially look out for the occasional limited edition colours, the gorgeous one-off hues that escape the shops as soon as they arrive on launch day.

The newest limited edition Chanel colour, for Summer 2012, is appropriately named ‘Holiday’, a bright punchy rich red-orange shade that evokes memories of the beach, sand and sea.

It was set to arrive in shops on May 25th, the date was emblazoned on my memory and marked in my diary. I’d need all my energy to be at a Chanel outlet early enough to get one! In fact there was no need – killing time at Marrakech airport last week, I was amazed and delighted to come across a few lonely bottles of ‘Holiday’ in the Chanel section of duty free! Apparently they always come out early at airports, and yet even here the stock was running low. I bought two, and boarded my Ryanair flight, very happy and smug.

The ‘Holiday’ varnish is the ultimate summer colour and another hit from the Chanel limited edition range. There might still be a few left if you hurry.
